Wedding Requirements

Civil Registry Requirements

One of the most important documents you need to apply for in order to be able to get married is a marriage license. You'll need this to apply for a marriage certificate. It is also one of the requirements of churches. Release is approximately 2 weeks upon application and validity is only 120 days from the date of issuance so timing is very important when getting one. Here's a list of the requirements but it's always best to check with your Local Civil Registrar.

  1. Fully Accomplished Application Form
  2. 2 Valid IDs
  3. 1x1 Picture
  4. Bgy Clearance (1 original, 1 photocopy)
  5. Community Tax Certificate or Cedula (1 original, 2 photocopies)
  6. Certificate of Attendance: Pre-marriage counselling, Family Planning and Responsible Parenthood Seminar
  7. Certificate of No Marriage or CENOMAR (1 original and 1 photocopy) - usually takes 2 to 7 days
  8. NSO Birth Certificate (1 original and 1 photocopy) - usually takes 2 to 7 days
  9. Affidavit of Parental Consent (18 to 21 years old) or advice (22 to 25 years old)

Catholic Church Requirements

While your local parish will wait for the marriage license, it's best to start the application early as some of the requirements will take time to get released. Here are the requirements.

  1. Marriage License
  2. Baptismal and Confirmation Certificate (6 months validity; newly acquired with annotation "For Marriage Purposes Only")
  3. Copy of NSO Birth Certificate and CENOMAR
  4. Certificate of Attendance to Pre-marriage or Pre-Cana Marriage Preparationg Seminar
  5. Canonical Interview (2 months)
  6. Marriage Banns
  7. Marriage Permit
  8. List of Sponsors and Entourage
  9. Confession

Christian Church Requirements

The requirements for Christian churches vary but these are the most basic thing your local churches might ask from you.

  1. Baptismal Certificate
  2. Marriage Counselling
  3. Letter from Pastor (if from different churches

Hi, TWP. I was wondering if you can post something about bridal registry? What's the best option out there? Thanks!
