Theme & Program

Theme

If you think motif is just for birthdays - Luau, Starvwars, Harry Potter - think again. Most wedding suppliers will ask you about your wedding theme and motif and if you say "just the normal kind", you may or may not get a fake laugh from a supplier who's actually thinking in their heads, "is this woman crazy?" What they actually want to know is not whether or not you want a light saber (but if you want Star Wars, by all means, go for it) on your wedding cake but what tone and mood would you like to set. The "normal kind" may mean formal/elegant or casual depending on your definition of normal. Here are some themes to get you started.

  1. Classic
  2. Formal Elegance
  3. Shabby Chic
  4. Vintage
  5. Garden
  6. Beach
  7. Wes Anderson inspired
  8. Rustic

Whatever you want, think about the overall look. If you want simple, just tell your suppliers you want it classic and then just choose the colors you want. I'm running out of words but I need to keep this going so here's a quote by C.S. Lewis disguised as a paragraph: “To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact you must give it to no one, not even an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket, safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. To love is to be vulnerable.” How about we read that again? I'm running out of words but I need to keep this going so here's a quote by C.S. Lewis disguised as a paragraph: “To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact you must give it to no one, not even an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket, safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. Hi, TWP. I was wondering if you can post something about bridal registry? What's the best option out there? Thanks!
